Freshman (2021-22): 

In her freshman season Dong was one of the most successful golfers in the country and in the process set many Emory and national records along the way… Dong finished second on the team with an average of 73.4 strokes per round in 20 rounds played… Was one of three Emory golfers to compete in each of the Eagles nine tournaments during the 2021-22 season… Became the first national individual champion for the Eagles, man or woman, since 1991… Earned the individual national title after being tied at 289 at the end of 72 holes played and then winning a one hole playoff… Her score of 289 (75-68-72-74) at the NCAA Championships set the new NCAA Championship record for best tournament score… Also established the new single round scoring record at the NCAA Championships after recording a 68 in the second round… Second Team All-American… All-Region… All-UAA First Team… Finished in the top two amongst the Eagles contingent at all but one tournament… Played a pivotal role in earning the Eagles their first ever UAA Championship as well, winning her match in the one spot in the finals over Carnegie Mellon to earn her UAA Tournament MVP honors… In her first career tournament, Dong tied for the tournament win at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational where she posted a two-round score of 144 (72-72) to help the Eagles earn their first ever tournament win as a team… Competing at the BSC Panthers Classic, Dong matched her career-low scoring round, posting a 68 in the first round, which brought her two round score to 141 (68-73) which is the best two-round score in program history and helped her to finish second overall at the tournament… Finished second for the Eagles and tied for seventh overall at the Jekyll Island Collegiate after carding a 217 (73-72-73) in helping the Eagles to their largest tournament win in program history, winning by over 40 strokes and the teams best three-round tournament score by over 30 strokes… At the Golfweek Invitational, Dong finished tied for sixth after posting a three round score of 223 (73-75-75) on the way to leading the Eagles to their third tournament win of the season… Dong also competed at the MCC Intercollegiate (149, T-19th), Williams College Championship (155, T-21st) and the Savannah Invitational (149, T-9th)… Named UAA Athlete of the Week on two separate occasions, for winning the NCAA Individual Championship and for winning the UAA Tournament MVP... Named to the WGCA Scholar All-America Team.
