Emory Women's Soccer Enters D3Soccer.com National Rankings at No. 20

The Emory University Women's Soccer entered the national rankings this week after a strong start to the season, checking in at No. 20 in the first D3Soccer.com Top-25 poll of the year that was released Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles have posted a 3-1 record through their first four games, outscoring opposing teams 12-1 and recorded three straight shutouts to begin the season against Puget Sound, Pacific Lutheran and Oglethorpe.  Senior Madison Phaneuf and junior Shivani Beall are tied for the team lead with five points thanks to their big performances in Emory's 9-0 rout against the crosstown Stormy Petrels. Senior Abbe McCarter has found the back of the net twice in the early stages of the season, tying Phaneuf and Beall for the team lead with two goals.

The Eagles travel to the University of the South for two more neutral contests this Saturday and Sunday against Lynchburg and Thomas More. Saturday's affair at 3:30pm EST will be a meeting of top-20 programs as the LC Hornets (3-1-0) are currently positioned No. 13 in the D3Soccer.com rankings. On Sunday, the Eagles will face the Saints (0-4) at 2:30 PM EST.
