#23 Women's Soccer Closes Out Regular Season with Road Contest at Rochester

The Emory University Women's Soccer team wraps up the regular season on Saturday, November 3rd at the University of Rochester, beginning at 1:30 PM.

UAA Roundup

Washington University clinched the UAA title this past Sunday but the Eagles (3-2-1) still have an opportunity to finish as high as third in the conference standings with a win over the Yellowjackets on Saturday. WashU host Chicago while NYU travels to Brandeis and Carnegie Mellon battles Case Western Reserve on the final day of UAA play.

NCAA Outlook

The Eagles enter the weekend needing a win to help shore up their NCAA tournament resume for an at-large bid as Emory currently ranks seventh in this week's NCAA South Atlantic regional rankings. The 64-team postseason field will be announced on Monday, November 5th with the women's soccer selection show on NCAA.com at 1:30 PM.

RV/23rd Emory Eagles (12-4-1, 3-2-1 UAA)

The Eagles of Head Coach Sue Patberg are riding high with a season-best six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) and closed out the month of October at 7-1-1 with a 2-1 win over Case Western Reserve on Sunday. Six different Eagles have recorded at least 10 points on the season, led by junior Shivani Beall and senior Madison Phaneuf. Beall ranks tied for third in the UAA with her career-high nine goals, fourth in the UAA with 21 points while recording a conference-best 38 shots on goal. Phaneuf has also netted career-highs across the board, posting six goals and three assists for 15 points. Senior Dani Staffin currently ranks second among the UAA goalkeepers with 12 wins and 53 saves and is fifth with her career-best 0.79 goals against average.

University of Rochester Yellowjackets (9-6-1, 2-4-0 UAA)

Rochester has won three straight matches against RIT, Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon to up its seasonal mark to 9-6-1 and 2-4-0 in UAA play. Carolyn Richards paces the Yellowjacket offense with four goals and three assists for a team-leading points. Richards is one of five players with two or more goals on the seasons as UofR has netted 17 markers through 16 games played. Defensively, the Yellowjackets have allowed 18 goals on the year with goalkeeper Emma Schechter registering a 0.85 GAA in 14 games to go along with a 9-4-1 record and a .803 save percentage.

Rochester is led by Sike Dardaganis who is 52-63-21 in eight seasons with the team. He is assisted by Zac Shaw and Riley Bartoo.

All-Time Series Record

Rochesters leads the all-time series 13-11-7 through 31 meetings but Emory has had the advantage in recent seasons, posting a 5-0-2 record over the Yellowjackets in the last seven contests.
