Women's Soccer Blanks Maryville, 2-0, for Third Consecutive Win

The Emory University women's soccer team continued rolling Saturday afternoon, winning its third straight game with a 2-0 decision over Maryville College in Maryville, TN.

Entering the weekend as the nation's team leader with 32.25 shots per game, the Eagles added onto that lead with 34 in the win over the Scots including 14 being on target. Senior Caroline Kolski and freshman Natalie Klar recorded goals in the victory while freshman Peyton Robertson collected an assist.

Kolski tallied her second goal of the season to give the Eagles the lead at the 13:34 mark of the first half. Robertson sent a free kick into the box where Kolski was there to head it into the back of the net.

The score remained 1-0 until the 51:07 mark of the second half when Klar netted her team-leading third goal the season. Immediately after subbing into the match, Klar gathered a loose ball in the box following a corner kick by senior Shivani Beall and fired it home to double the Eagles advantage.

Emory outshot Maryville 34-7 in the match and held the Scots to just two shots on goal as the Eagles posted their second straight clean sheet. Senior Haley Pratt improved to 4-0 on the year in between the posts, stopping both shots that came in her direction.

Emory will look to keep the streak going Tuesday night when the Eagles travel to Lookout Mountain for a non-conference matchup against Covenant College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM EST.
