Women's Soccer Reaches Double Digits in Rout Over Huntingdon

The Emory University women's soccer team's offense was in full display Sunday afternoon as the Eagles recorded a season-high 10 goals in a rout over Huntingdon College at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta, GA.

The 10 goals marked just the 10th time in school history the Eagles had reached double-digits in the goals department and the first double figure outburst since October 22nd, 2006.

Eight different Eagles recorded a goal in Sunday's win with freshman Natalie Klar posting her first career multi-goal game. Klar led all Eagles with five points (2G, 1A) with senior Shivani Beall adding a season-high four points (1G, 2A) to highlight the Emory field performers.

Emory found the back of the net five times in each half and finished the contest with a 37-1 margin in shots, 17-0 edge in shots on goal and an 11-0 advantage in corner kick.

In the first half, sophomore Arielle Williamson opened the scoring with her second marker of the year in the 5th minute and saw senior Caroline Kolski (14th minute), Beall (23rd minute), freshman Aubrey Blanchard (32nd minuite) and Klar (41st minute) follow with goals as the Eagles headed into the break leading 5-0.

Klar led off the scoring in the second stanza with her team-leading eighth goal in the 48th minute before sophomores Lindsey Breskow and Lauren Mahoney followed with goals 32 seconds apart in the 61st and 62nd minutes.

An own goal followed in the 67th as the Hawks defenders misplayed the ricochet shot off the crossbar from freshman Riley Brackin. In the 86th minute, freshman Sydney Rosenkrantz found the back of the net for a goal of her own as she put in the rebound off the shot attempt by junior Kelly Walsh.

The Eagles, 10-4 overall and winners of three straight, are back in action Friday evening with a UAA date against Brandeis University. Kickoff from the WoodPEC is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
