The Emory University women's soccer team ran its shutout streak to four games Friday night as the Eagles disposed the Brandeis University Judges, 4-0, at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta, GA.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 11-4-0 overall and 3-2 in the UAA while the Judges dropped to 10-6 and 1-4 in UAA action as they lost just their second road game of the year. Senior Haley Pratt and the Emory defense recorded their fourth consecutive cleansheet and eighth shutout of the season. For the game, Pratt made eight saves as she registered her fifth complete shutout.
Emory saw three different players notch a goal in the win including three goals over the final half of play as the Eagles put the game out of reach.
Freshman Aubrey Blanchard was the first to crack the scoring column on the evening as she scored her third of the season just 3:17 into the contest. Junior Jordan Fitzgerald supplied a pass to Blanchard where she in turn spun around a defender and finished her shot under the goalkeeper's arms near the left post.
The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Eagles until senior Shivani Beall doubled the Emory lead in the 55th minute. Beall notched her fifth goal of the year with a beautiful bending shot to the far post where the goalkeeper had no chance to save it.
Following an own goal by the Judges in the 65th minute, freshman LJ Kolodge put the finishing touches on the victory, netting her first career goal in the 78th minute. Classmate Kylie Hall sent a cross into the six where Kolodge finished from close range.
The Eagles finished the contest leading the Judges in shots 15-11 and shots on goal 9-8. Brandeis had the slight edge in corner kicks, 6-5.
Emory, winners of four straight and three inside the UAA, continue its conference weekend Sunday morning when the team hosts New York University at the WoodPEC beginning 11:00 AM.
