Junior Annie Schenck put up a 10-point afternoon, scoring a school-record tying five goals, in a 9-2 victory over Wesleyan College. Schenck’s goal output tied Amber Poe (vs. Oglethorpe, 2000) for the school’s top single-game mark.
Schenck, who would earn First Team All-America honors for the second straight season (first Emory player to earn that distinction), helped the Eagles to an overall record of 17-1-1, and a 55-10 bulge in goals scored. Despite Emory’s glittering record and a No. 6 national ranking at the end of the year, it was denied a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Schenck was inducted into the Emory Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
