Women's Soccer Announces Roster Additions for 2020-21

Emory University women's soccer head coach Sue Patberg has announced the following additions to the roster for the 2020-21 academic year. The newcomers include six freshman and one transfer.

Joining the Eagles will be transfer Maggie Davis as well as freshmen Maddy Schulte, Grace Reyer, Olivia Friedman, Olivia McBerry, Emma Cornejo and Mia Han.

Emory is coming off a 13-5 season and its second straight appearance in the NCAA postseason in 2019. The team went 5-2 in UAA competition, finishing second in the league standings, the highest team finish for the Eagles since 2013.

Patberg has posted an overall record of 191-59-41 through her first 15 seasons in Atlanta (337-146-59 career overall) and, along with her staff, was named the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year in 2019.

Maggie Davis – 5-9 – Midfielder – Suwanee, GA (Furman University/North Gwinnett)

Prior to Emory: Spent her freshman season at Furman University, appearing in seven games as a reserve...Played two seasons with the North Gwinnett soccer program...Tallied three goals and five assists in 12 career games...Also spent three years with the Tophat Soccer Club, helping club become national finalists...National Honor Society from 2017-2019...Also participated in basketball.

Maddy Schulte – 5-5 – Goalkeeper – Cumming, GA (Lambert)

Prior to Emory: Played four seasons with the Lambert soccer program...Selected to the All-Forsyth County and All-Region First Team as a senior...Named to the All-Forsyth County First Team as a junior...Helped team to conference titles in 2019 & 2020...Spent 14 years with the Gwinnett Soccer Academy, helping club reach ECNL Nationals in 2019...National Honor Society from 2018-2020...Graduated with High Honors.

Grace Reyer – 5-6 – Midfielder – Croton-on-Hudson (Croton Harmon)

Prior to Emory: Played two seasons with the Croton Harmon soccer program, serving as a team captain during her senior season...Tallied 26 goals and 13 assists in 23 career games...Tabbed as the Conference Player of the Year and named All-State for New York as a senior...Spent 2016-20 playing with the Sky Blue New York Soccer Club Academy...Served as a team captain in 2016...Also participated in basketball in high school, earning All-Section Honorable Mention as a senior...National Honor Society member in 2019...Presidential Award winner in 2020.

Olivia Friedman – 5-8 - Forward/Midfielder – Anthem, AZ (Anthem Preparatory Academy)

Prior to Emory: Played four years with the Anthem Prep Academy soccer program, serving as a team captain all four seasons...Compiled 66 goals and 26 assists for 158 career points in 42 games played...2016-17 Athlete of the Year...4x Most Valuable Player...All-Region First Team selection in 2017-18...Regional Offensive Player of the Year in 2018-19...First Team All-Conference selection in 2018-19...AIA All-Academic Team from 2017-2019...Honor Roll in 2016-17...Also played club soccer for one season with Phoenix Rising ECNL.

Olivia McBerry – 5-8 – Forward – Bethesda, MD (Walter Johnson)

Prior to Emory: Played four seasons with the Walter Johnson soccer program...Appeared in 64 career games, compiling 42 goals and 27 assists for 111 career points...Named Offensive Player of the Year, Maryland All-State and All-County as a senior after point 14 goals and nine assists in 15 games...Tabbed All-County as a junior...Helped Walter Johnson to the Maryland State Championship as well as Region and Division titles as a freshman...4x Scholar Athlete Award recipient...National Honors Society from 2017-2020...Psychology Honors Society in 2020...AP Scholar Award as a junior...Played club soccer at Bethesda Storm and Threat ECNL for four years.

Emma Cornejo – 5-7 – Defender – Winter Haven, FL (All Saints Academy)

Prior to Emory: Played four seasons for the All Saints Academy soccer program, serving as a team captain for her sophomore, junior and senior seasons...Finished high school career with a senior season that saw her log 31 goals and 17 assists for 79 points...Earned numerous accolades over her high school career including: Midfield Player of the Year (2017), Playmaker Award (2019), MVP 2018, "Big Dog" Award (2019), All-Academic Team (2020), First Team (2020), "Tremendous 10" (weekly article 2020), Athlete of the Week (2020)...Spent three seasons with the Tampa Bay United club team...Tallied over 100 service hours from 2016-20...American Citizenship Award recipient (2016-2020)...Geometry Award winner (2017)...Spanish 3 Award recipient (2018)...Yale Book Award recipient (2019)...Spanish 4 Award recipient (2019)...Diversity Excellence (2019)...Calculus Award recipient (2020)...Chemistry Award recipient (2020)...President's Education Award for Academic Excellence (2020)...Also participated in volleyball.
