Kushner Takes Third in Women's 1-Meter; Burke Places Fifth in Men's 3-Meter to Open NCAA Diving Regionals

Emory University divers Trevor Burke and Katie Kushner were in action Friday afternoon, competing at the NCAA Diving Regionals in San Antonio, Texas.

Taking part in the 1-meter, 11-dive event, Kushner placed third overall out of 17 divers as she was one of three competitors to score over 400 points, registering 405.35. Centre's Sarah Hayhurst claimed one of the five women's NCAA allocations with her first place score of 436.35.

In the men's 3-meter, 11-dive event, Burke posted a fifth-place finish with his score of 431.75. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Kendall Holliman secured one of the region's three men's NCAA allocation on the afternoon as he recorded a winning score of 486.05.

The NCAA Region 2 Diving Championships continue on Saturday with the women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter diving events with action getting underway 12:00 PM local time.
