Emory University sophomore Brenna Kelly went 4-0 in fifth singles play and 3-1 in second doubles matches last week.  During a suspended match against the Division I University of Alabama – Birmingham on Tuesday, Kelly won her singles match 6-4, 6-2, and teamed with Malavika Padmanabhan to defeat their doubles counterparts 8-6.  In a 5-4 loss to seventh-ranked Middlebury College on Friday, she earned a 6-1, 2-6, 6-0 win in singles play, and dropped a 8-4 decision in doubles action, her only setback of the week.  Kelly and the second-ranked Eagles bounced back the following day in a 5-4 win over third-ranked Amherst College, as the sophomore won her singles match 6-3, 6-3, and her doubles match 8-5.  She rounded off her week with a 6-3, 6-1 singles victory and an 8-6 doubles win during Emory’s 7-2 win over 13th-ranked Tufts University.  Kelly is now 10-2 in singles play, including an 8-1 mark in the dual match season, and 17-3 in doubles action.  She has helped the Eagles to a 12-4 overall record this season.
