The top-ranked Emory University Women's Tennis team saw its six-match win streak snapped on Friday afternoon, falling to Division I's Charleston Southern University, 5-4, at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta, GA.

The Eagles started strong, taking two of the three doubles matches to open the match. Junior Daniela Lopez and freshman Katie Chang posted an 8-3 victory at third doubles before CSU tied the match with an 8-6 win over senior Anna Fuhr and freshman Stephanie Taylor on court two. At first doubles, senior Bridget Harding and freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico picked up the hard fought win in the rubber match, edging CSU's top doubles duo 9-8 (3).

In singles, Lopez and sophomore Emma Perelman led the Eagles, claiming the team's two singles victories. At fifth singles, Perelman collected a straight set win by a 6-4, 6-4 score while Lopez added a win in straight sets on court three, besting her opponent 7-5, 6-4.

Emory looks to return to the win column on Saturday as the Eagles host DePauw University, beginning at 10:00 AM at the WoodPEC. Prior to the start of the match, the Eagles will honor their two seniors Bridget Harding and Anna Fuhr with an on-court ceremony.
