Emory University sophomore Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico was named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week after capturing the ITA Cup Division III Singles National Championship this past weekend in Rome, GA.

Gonzalez-Rico ran through the D-III singles bracket, winning all three matches in straight sets including a 6-4, 6-1 decision over John Carroll's Lauren O'Malley in the championship match. She also teamed with freshman Jessica Fatemi to reach the Division III semifinals in doubles.

By virtue of winning the ITA Cup Division III singles crown, Gonzalez-Rico will be one of 64 players across the five divisions to be entered into the Oracle ITA Fall National Championships in Surprise, AZ from November 7-11.
