Emory University senior Daniela Lopez was named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Co-Athlete of the Week after helping the top-ranked Eagles to two 9-0 wins on Saturday against DePauw and 22nd-ranked Washington & Lee University. It is the second weekly honor this season for the Coral Gables, FL native and the fourth of her career.
On senior day, Lopez went 2-0 in singles playing at both first and second and added two wins with freshman Emma Cartledge in doubles action as the Eagles improved to 12-0 following shutout wins over the Tigers and Generals at the Woodruff PE Center courts.
Lopez and the Eagles will return to the courts this weekend with a pair of top-10 matchups on the road versus No.-7 Tufts University on Friday before facing No.-5 Middlebury College on Sunday.
