Sophomore Christina Watson was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week after helping the women's tennis team to a championship appearance at the ITA National Indoor Team Championships this weekend in Nicholasville, KY.

Watson went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 with Stephanie Taylor at the No.-1 doubles position, helping Emory to a runner-up finish at the ITA National Indoor Team Championships. Watson won two of her three singles matches in straight sets including a 7-5, 6-2 decision at fourth singles in the championship match. In doubles, the pairing defeated the top doubles teams from Brandeis and Pomona-Pitzer before falling 8-6 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps number one team.

Watson and the Eagles face Penn State University in a Thursday match before traveling to Florida for the team's spring break trip.
