Senior Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico went 6-1 in singles and 7-0 in doubles with Katie Chang this past week, leading the Eagles to their 8th team national championship and 5th doubles national championship in team history. She did not drop a set during the team portion of the week, going 3-0 at the No. 1 position including a 6-0, 6-1 win over Wesleyan's Yeung in the national title match. She added a 3-0 mark at the No. 1 position in doubles with Chang, including an 8-1 victory over Wesleyan's Yeung and Fleischman in the championship match. At the individual championships, Gonzalez-Rico reached the semifinals before falling to eventual singles champion, Williams' Erica Ekstrand. The next day, Gonzalez-Rico completed the career triple crown, winning the doubles national championship in three sets in the All-Emory final. The first Emory doubles crown since 2004.
