Women's Tennis Recruiting Class Ranked #1 in Division III

For the fourth time since 2010 the Emory University women's tennis program will welcome the nation's top recruiting class as announced by tennisrecruiting.net late last week. The voting was conducted by the TRN staff along with a panel of coaches from around the Division III landscape.

The talented group of incomers includes five players and is the first recruiting class to be ranked No. 1 since 2017. Head Coach Amy Bryant and her staff has assembled four top ranked classes within the last 12 years, previously boasting the No. 1 class in 2013, 2014, 2017 and now 2022.

"We are excited to welcome this group of players to the team this upcoming year," Bryant said. "We have gotten to know each of them well through the recruiting process and feel strongly that they'll contribute positively to the culture of our team both on and off the court."

The incoming class includes:

Iris Berman, a 4-star recruit from Los Angeles, California. Iris is ranked 97th in the nation, 16th in the state of California and currently boasts a UTR of 9.19, the highest of the group.

Emily Kantrovitz, a 4-star recruit from St. Louis, Missouri. Emily is ranked 104th in the nation and is impressively ranked as the best player in the state of Missouri. She joins Berman with a UTR over nine at 9.04.

Alyssa Margolin, the third 4-star recruit of the class, and hails from Armonk, New York. Alyssa is ranked 187th nationally, 8th in the state of New York and has a UTR of 8.52.

Izabele Antanavicius rounds out the incoming crop from the United States. She is a 3-star recruit from Villanova, Pennsylvania and currently is ranked 228th in the nation, 6th in the state of Pennsylvania, and holds a UTR of 8.18.

Alessia Martinez is the lone international player joining the squad in 2022-23, joining the Eagles from Lima, Peru. Alessia has a UTR of 8.83 and holds a career-high ITF ranking of 335th.

The Eagles will look to build upon its national quarterfinal appearance from this past season when the 2022-23 season gets underway later this fall.
