Emory Women's Track & Field Wins Tiger Indoor Invitational at Sewanee

The Emory University Women's Track and Field team registered three event wins on Saturday afternoon as the Eagles won the Tiger Indoor Invitational with 97 points. The meet was hosted by Sewanee University.

Junior Dilys Osei claimed first in the 55m Hurdles with her time of 8.59 in the finals while junior Paris Wagner and sophomore Isabel Saridakis paced the Eagles in the field events as Wagner won the weight throw with a new personal-best mark of 14.74 and Saridakis topped all performers in the pole vault with a height of 3.20m.

Other top performers for the Eagles were freshmen Ana Sofia Beltran, Rebekah Bondi, Andi Breitowich and senior Dara Liss who all posted second place efforts on Saturday. Beltran in the 55m Hurdles (9.42), Bondi in the long jump (4.92m) and Breitowich and Liss in the pole vault (3.20m).

In the high jump, junior Jordan Small took third with her mark of 1.55m while sophomore Amy Hunter placed third in the triple jump (10.11m) and freshman Leelah Wilburn added another third place showing in the shot put (10.35m).

Rounding out the top Emory performers at the meet were junior Dani Bland and Osei in the 55m Dash as Bland was fourth in a time of 7.41 and Osei was fifth at 7.54. Freshman Ayla Kazemi tied for 4th in the 400m Dash in a time of 1:05.33 and in the shot put, Wagner was fourth at 10.34m.

The Eagles return to competition later this week with the Dunamis Super Meet and the Samford Invitational.
