Emory Track & Field Competes at KMS Invitational

The Emory University Track and Field teams returned to the Birmingham Crossplex for the third consecutive week on Sunday to compete in the KMS Invitational, hosted by the University of New Orleans. There was no team scoring at the meet.

On the women’s side, the Eagles were led by a pair of marks that were among the best in program history. In the Mile, senior Gabrielle Stravach turned in the fifth fastest time ever at 5:04.65, finishing third overall and first among non-unattached runners. She added a personal-best time in the 800m Run, clocking in at 2:15.89. Freshman Andi Breitowich posted a height of 3.35m in the pole vault which was the fifth-highest mark individually in school history.

Junior Jordan Small tied her personal-best in the High Jump at 1.60m, which was a season high mark for the Eagles in the event. Classmate Dani Bland tied her fastest time this season in the 60m Dash with a time of 7.95. She added a 13th place showing the 200m, crossing the finish line at 25.80.

For the Emory men, senior Benjamin Rogin reached the finals of the 60m Hurdles and finished sixth with a time of 8.42. In the 400m Dash, freshman Liam Fost tied his season-best mark of 50.49. The duo added a ninth place effort as part of the 4x400m Relay in a time of 3:27.15 with sophomore Aria Mohseni and Alex Rand. In the field events, junior Zachary Lembersky set a new season-best distance in the shot put at 10.94m to finish 16th in the event.

The Eagles are slated to compete in both the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational (Feb. 2-3) and the Sewanee Tiger Indoor Invitational (Feb. 3) next weekend.
