Sophomore Rebekah Bondi finished eighth overall in Thursday's pentathlon at the Carolina Challenge hosted by the University of South Carolina. Her five-event total of 2,731 points was the best by a non-Division I competitor in the 17-person field.
Bondi recorded season-best marks in the 60m Hurdles (9.80, 9th), high jump (1.37m, T-9th) and 800m Run (2:47.20, 6th) and finished third overall in the long jump with a distance of 5.23m. Bondi also posted a mark of 7.76m in the shot put to round out her five events.
Bondi's teammates will be in action all day tomorrow in Columbus, SC before the rest of the team travels to Sewanee, TN for the Tiger Indoor Invitational on Saturday.
