Emory Track & Field Teams Take Part in KMS Invitational

The Emory University Track and Field teams continued their indoor seasons on Sunday afternoon, competing at the KMS Invitational at the Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. There was no team scoring at the meet.

Women

Senior Dani Bland led a contingent of Eagles which set season best marks on Sunday as she ran a 25.38 in the 200m Dash, moving into sixth among the Division III ranks. Bland also reached the semifinals of the 60m Dash with times of 7.84 and 7.86 and was part of the Eagles’ 4x400m Relay with freshmen Hannah Lansberry, Belle Brown and sophomore Michelle Rosenblum that turned in a season best performance of 4:08.13.

In the high jump, senior Jordan Small tied her personal best with a team seasonal best jump of 1.60m while sophomore Carrie McIntyre ran a new fastest time in the mile, clocking in at 5:12.17.

Additional top team performances on Sunday were Lansberry in the 400m (1:00.63-PR), sophomore Rebekah Bondi in the 60m Hurdles (10.00-PR), senior Kayla O’Shea in the 800m (2:18.78-PR), sophomore Abby Durfee in the 3000m Run (10:50.21-PR), junior Isabel Saridakis in the long jump (4.79m), junior Kemdi Okafor in the weight throw (12.60m), junior Ayriel Coleman in the triple jump (10.62m), sophomore Andi Breitowich in the pole vault (3.35m) and senior Gracie Potokar in the shot put (9.30m).

Men

Freshman Brett Henshey matched his personal best mark in the high jump at 2.00m, ranking 15th among DIII leaders as he highlighted the Emory men in Birmingham on Sunday.

Sophomore Liam Fost registered a PR in the 200m at 22.99 after freshman Jon Marcus posted a season best effort in the 800m, crossing the finish line at 1:57.57. Freshman Yuri Brunner matched his season best mark of 3.80m in the pole vault as well.

Other top showings on the men’s side at the meet included freshman Connor Kamp in the long jump (5.90m), freshman Ben Kronman in the triple jump (11.64m), freshman Fernando Cardozo in the 60m Dash (7.20-PR), freshman Anthony Di Iorio in the mile (4:34.46-PR), freshman Lucas Werner in the 60m Hurdles (8.93) and senior Tyler Breeden in the 3000m Run (9:06.56-PR).

The Eagles will be back in action later this week with the Carolina Challenge at the University of South Carolina and the Tiger Indoor Invitational at Sewanee.
