Bondi and Saridakis Sweep UAA Women's Track & Field Weekly Honors

Emory University women's track and field members Rebekah Bondi and Isabel Saridakis swept the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week awards as announced Monday afternoon.

Bondi posted three individual season best marks and aided in another in the 4x100m as the Eagles competed at the Georgia Tech Invitational this past weekend. Bondi along with Michelle Rosenblum, Jessica Barbarosh and Hannah Lansberry recorded the second fastest time by a 4x100 team in Division III this season, clocking in at 47.65. She added season best marks on the track in the 100m Dash at 12.09 (6th fastest in DIII) and 200m Dash at 25.50 (32nd in DIII) and in the long jump, she registered an outdoor personal best at 5.56m which placed her 16th among Division III qualifiers.

In the pole vault event on Saturday, Saridakis earned a first place finish as she recorded a season best mark of 3.70m. Her height was good enough to move her into the top-10 nationally, as she checked in at No. 8 following the weekend.

It is the second straight weekly honor for Bondi and third overall of her career while this is Saridakis' first of the season and third for her career.
