Annika Urban Races to All-America Honors in 1500m Run

Junior Annika Urban highlighted the Emory University track & field program on the final day of the season Saturday afternoon, racing to her first career All-America honor on the track at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Geneva, OH.

Urban becomes the second All-American in the 1500m in team history as she finished sixth overall with a personal best time of 4:30.99, putting a cap on a monumental season for the Pittsburgh native as she was also a first-time All-American in cross country in the fall.

After competing in the 1500m, Urban was back on the track two and half hours later in the finals of the 5000m. She started slow as she was in the last few positions in the early stages before finishing strong and placing 10th in the field of 21 runners with her time of 16:56.71.

The day started for the Eagles with senior Spencer Moore taking to the track in the finals of the 3000m Steeplechase. The senior finished 11th in the event with his time of 9:15.56.
