Track & Field Finishes Strong with Emory Final Qualifier

In the final opportunity before the selections to the NCAA Championships are announced later this week, several members of the Emory University track & field teams competed in the Emory Final Qualifier looking to improve on their national standings.

None improved their national ranking more than the women's 4x100m relay team of Clementine Bodus, Dashiel Tao Harris, Kaya Binetti and Audrey Johnson that posted a blistering 46.77 on Wednesday. The time represented a season-best for the group and moved them to 12th among Division III qualifiers. In addition, it marked the third fastest time in team history.

Freshman Henry Brandstadter kept busy on the evening as he competed in three different disciplines.  In the long jump, he reached 7.00m and in the high jump he recorded a height of 1.90m. He then turned to the track to run in the 4x100m relay alongside Sam Ryba, Tommy Davis and Jackson Price. Together, the quartet posted a 41.10.

Junior Kenya Sei had solid showings in two events, registering 53.54m in the hammer and 40.09m in the discus. For the women, graduate student Nyjah Willis posted a mark of 35.69m in the hammer while senior Hope Jackson secured 40.09m in the discus.

Rounding out the Emory competitors were Johnson in the 100m Dash (12.15) and Bodus in the 100m Hurdles (15.04).

The Eagles' Spencer Watry will be the final Eagle to compete before NCAA selections announced this weekend as he travels to Rock Island, Illinois for the Augustana Midwest Twilight meet on Thursday.
