Sara Carr

Sara Carr

Sophomore Sara Carr came through with some outstanding play at the UAA Volleyball Round Robin II in Chicago.

The 5-foot-11 Carr led the Eagles in both kills average (4.5 kps) and attack percentage (.349), as they split their four matches. In addition, Carr ranked second on the squad in digs average (3.75 dps) and tied for the team lead with six service aces.

Carr finished as the club's leader in kills in three contests, reaching the double-figure mark in all four outings. In the RR II opener, a five-set battle against Washington University, Carr led all players by banging out a career-high 20 kills while finishing with a classy .409 hitting percentage (20-2--44). She also paced all players with 20 digs, her second-highest career total. After posting another double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs in a 3-0 decision over Case Western, Carr came up big on the final day of play. She bombed NYU with a match-leading 18 terminations and hit a blazing .515 (18-1--33), the third-highest mark by an Eagle this season, in a 3-0 outcome over the Violets. In the weekend finale that saw Emory and Carnegie Mellon wage a five-set nail biter, Carr once again led all spikers by bettering her previous career standard when she totaled 22 successful attack attempts while coming up with 18 digs (her third double-double of the weekend).

So far this year, Carr has chalked up 10 contests of double-figure kills and her average of 3.07 kills per set is good for the No. 7 position on the UAA ladder.
