Senior libero Elyse Thompson helped the No. 2-ranked Emory volleyball team to a 3-0 record at this past weekend's University Athletic Association.
The 5-foot-7 Thompson played in all nine of the team's sets and averaged a squad-high 4.44 digs per game. Her defensive play helped the Eagles limit their three foes to a combined .007 hitting percentage.
In the opener of the Round Robin I, a sweep of Brandeis, Thompson totaled a team-high nine digs, while adding a pair of service aces, and followed that performance by topping all players with 21 doubles which represented her third outing of 20 or more this season. Thompson closed out the Round Robin with a club-high 10 digs in a 3-0 triumph over No. 12 Carnegie Mellon.
So far this season, Thompson has played in 34 of the Eagles' 40 sets and ranks sixth among conference players with an average of 4.06 digs per game.
