Alana Dawson

Freshman Alana Dawson was a key offensive factor for the Eagles in the East-West Battle held in Thousand Oaks, California.

The 5-foot-11 Dawson hit a team-high .329 (32-9--70) while playing in all 12 of the team's set over three matches. Her 2.67 kills-per-set average was second on the club, and she closed out the weekend with double-figure terminations in all three outings, leading or tying for the team lead in two contests.

She turned in a solid performance vs. No. 1 Trinity, hitting .600 on the strength of a team-high 10 kills with just one error in 15 swings. In the finale of the Battle, Dawson paced the Emory attack with 10 kills while hitting .292 (11-4--24) in a four-set affair vs. No. 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Through eight matches this year. Alana is second on the team scoresheet with an average of 2.56 kills per game while claiming a .333 (64-20--132) attack percentage.
