Senior Tara Martin helped the No. 4-ranked Emory Volleyball team to a 5-0 record in its season-opening week of play.

The 5-foot-9 Martin averaged a team-high 2.8 kills over 15 sets of action and posted a keen .404 (42-6--89) hitting percentage. In addition, she averaged 2.07 digs and 0.33 blocks per game.

Martin paced the team in terminations in four contests and produced three outings of double-figure kills.

She was named the MVP of the Emory Classic following a four-match effort that her average a team-high 2.5 kills per set while hitting .435 (30-3--62). She recorded a pair of double-figure kills performances including a team-high 11 (.417 hitting pct.) in a sweep of Covenant College. She also chipped in nine digs and three block assists in the decision over the Scots.
