Four members of the Emory University volleyball program earned postseason honors this week with senior Tara Martin and junior Cassie Srb leading the charge with America Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region honors.

Martin and Srb were tabbed to the AVCA All-Region squad for the second consecutive season and in addition, were named to the All-University Athletic Association First Team as both award announcements were released Thursday afternoon. Joining Martin and Srb on the All-UAA Team were freshmen Deborah Hong and Madison Cail as the pair of newcomers garnered Second Team honors.

For Martin, this represents her second AVCA All-Region honor and second straight All-UAA First Team selection. Martin's season totals of 312 kills and 3.03 kills per set lead the team and currently rank among the top-three among conference leaders. This year, Martin has reached double figures in kills on 19 different occasions including a season-high of 18 in the team's five-set victory over Carnegie Mellon on September 19th. To go along with attacking prowess, Martin sits fourth on the team with 172 digs.

Like Martin, Srb makes her second straight appearance on both the All-Region and All-UAA First Teams. She currently ranks third among UAA leaders with 802 total assists while her 9.44 assists per set tops all league performers. Her setting ability has enabled the Eagles to hit .242 collectively, second-highest in the conference. Srb has dished out 30 or more assists in 15 contests including a season-best 51 in the team's five-set victory over Case Western Reserve on September 18th.

Hong and Cail make their first-ever appearance on the All-UAA Team after impressive rookie campaigns.

Hong is one of four players to play in all 29 matches, seeing playing time in a team-leading 104 sets. Her team-leading 44 service aces currently place her fourth among conference leaders while her 328 digs are seventh among all UAA players.

For Cail, she appeared in the team's first 25 matches before being sidelined since October 30th with an injury. Cail is first on the team with over 20 matches played with her .305 attack percentage, tallying 152 total kills for a 1.81 kills per set average. She's also been a force at the net, leading the team in both block solos (12) and block assists (54), figures that place her among the top-seven in both category: Tied for 5th in BS and tied for seventh in BA.

The Eagles are in the midst of another NCAA tournament run which began Thursday (Nov. 11) night with a 3-0 victory over Southern Virginia. Emory is the regional host for the opening rounds and opposes UT-Dallas in the NCAA Second Round Friday evening (Nov. 12) at the WoodPEC.
