Tara Martin Tabbed to AVCA All-America Third Team; Cassie Srb Named All-America Honorable Mention

The Emory University volleyball team saw two players recognized for their performances during the 2021 season, earning a spot on the Division III All-America Team as chosen by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Senior Tara Martin headlines the Emory selections as she garners her second consecutive selection being named to the AVCA All-America Third Team after earning All-America Second Team honors as a sophomore in 2019. Earlier this fall, Martin was tabbed to the AVCA All-Region Team and was an All-University Athletic Association First Team selection. Her play also awarded her MVP honors at the Emory Classic and All-Tournament recognition for the Atlanta, Georgia NCAA regional, 2021 East-West Battle and the Emory National Invitational.

Martin played in 110 of the team's 111 sets this season, recording a team-leading 337 kills and 3.06 kills per set while hitting .244 for the year. She reached double figures in kills in 20 of the team's 31 matches including 15 or more on seven different occasions. She was fourth on the team with 185 digs and added 23 assists, nine service aces and 39 total blocks.

In addition to Martin, junior Cassie Srb was recognized by the AVCA as she earned her second consecutive Honorable Mention All-America honor. Srb doled out 880 assists (9.57 per set) while appearing in 92 of the team's 111 sets. She had 16 matches with 30 or more assists including eight over 40. Srb was named to the Atlanta, Georgia Regional All-Tournament Team as well as the All-UAA First Team, AVCA All-Region, Emory Classic All-Tournament Team this season and was a two-time UAA Athlete of the Week.

The Eagles finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 25-6, qualifying for the program's 25th consecutive NCAA tournament and advancing to the program's 11th straight regional final.
