The Emory University volleyball team has been named a recipient of the United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. All totaled, more than 1,200 programs across collegiate and high school divisions were honored.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
This marks the 21st all-time selection for the Eagles program and the 13th consecutive honor. This past fall 12 players were honored on the University Athletic Association All-Academic Team while Tara Martin was tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team. In addition, Martin and Claire Yohann were chosen to the Emory 100 Senior Honorary.
The Eagles, coming off a 25-6 season and a trip to the regional finals, are set to open the 2022 season Thursday, September 1 at home against LaGrange College.
