2018 NCAA D-III CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS WEBSITE

The Emory men and women's cross country teams are headed to the NCAA III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 17.  This year's Championships will be held conducted on the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wisconsin.  Serving as the host institution will be the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh  The women's 6K race is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. (CST), followed by the men's 8K competition at 12:15.

The women's team is making its 14^th consecutive and 29^th overall appearance at nationals. The Eagles enter the race ranked 25^th nationally as announced by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association earlier this week.  The women's side is coming off a first-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships last weekend in Mount Berry, Georgia, finishing with 83 points with Centre College finishing runner-up with 106 points. The Eagles came away with six all-region performers, led by senior Kaylee Slade who clocked a 22:55 en route to a seventh-place effort out of 237 entries.

The men's squad holds down the No. 28 position in the USTFCCCA Poll and earned an automatic berth to the Championships after recording a runner-up finish out of 33 teams at the regional championships, recording 90 points to trail only Rhodes College's mark of 71 points.  The Eagles saw five runners race to all-region accolades including junior Luis Torres who paced the Emory pack for the second straight meet with an 8K performance of 26:05 that ranked 10^th out of 239 contestants. Saturday will represent the sixth straight and 22^nd overall appearance at nationals for the men's program.

Both teams raced at the Lake Breeze Golf Club earlier this season (Oct. 13) at the Pre-Nationals competition with the Eagle women placing 10^th out of 52 teams and the men 15^th out of 50.
