Emory Men's And Women's Cross Country Teams To Compete At JSU Foothills Invitational

Choccolocco Sports Complex

The Emory men’s and women’s cross country teams continue their seasons on Saturday (Sept. 29) when they compete in the 13th Annual JSU Foothills Invitational.  The meet will be held at the Choccolocco Sports Complex in Oxford, Alabama, with the men’s 7K competition starting at 8:00 am (CDT) followed by the women’s 5K at 8:50 am.

The entry field for the Foothills Invitational includes approximately 26 women's teams and 22 men's teams to create one of the largest collegiate cross country meets held in the state of Alabama. Both men and women races will be scored in two divisions, red for Division I competitors, and white for Division II, III, NAIA and junior college.

The Emory men enter this weekend as the No. 2-ranked D-III program in the South/Southeast Region and 21st nationally, while the women hold down the No. 28 slot in the national rankings and the No. 2 position in the region.

Both sides last competed on Sept. 15 at the Montevallo Falcon Classic.  The men captured fourth place out of 25 teams while the women posted a third-place finish out of 22 squads.
