Nicholas Nautiyal & Annika Urban Named UAA Athletes of the Week

Emory University senior Annika Urban and sophomore Nicholas Nautiyal were honored as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week on Monday. This is the fourth honor for Urban this season and ninth for her career while this is the first career honor for Nautiyal.

Urban made it 4-for-4 in individual titles this past Friday at the UAB Blazer Classic, helping the Eagles to a fifth place finish out of 16 teams and were the top Division III program at the meet. Urban paced the field of 149 runners in the 6k with her time of 20:44.5, her second straight sub-21 minute time. She was one of just two runners to come in under 21 minutes, finishing ahead of Memphis' Chloe Figgins and her time of 20:53.10.

Nautiyal was the top Emory golfer at last week's Piedmont Invitational, placing second overall while playing as an individual. Nautiyal shot a second round personal-low of 67 to finish at 148, seven strokes behind the overall winner. As a team, the Eagles won the tournament by a total of six strokes.

The cross country programs will return to race action on Saturday, October 29 with the UAA Championships in Hampton, Georgia while Nautiyal's teammates are currently taking part in the Golfweek DIII Invitational in Sandestin, Florida.
