Four Eagles Tabbed UAA Athletes of the Week

Four Emory University student-athletes were named University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon as announced by the conference office.

Senior Joey Bock twirled seven shutout innings while tying a career-high in strikeouts as the Eagles won the second game of the series at CWRU by an 11-1 score. Bock scattered seven baserunners across his seven frames and was one of two Eagles to rack up nine strikeouts this weekend.

Senior Henry Pelinski had at least one hit and one RBI in all four games during the weekend series at CWRU, finishing the series 8-for-15 with a team-leading eight RBI. Pelinski's weekend was highlighted by a career day in the third game of the series as he posted a double and HR in a 3-for-4 day with a career-best five RBI.

Freshman Ella Hoyle played a major role in Emory's series against Brandeis and St. Olaf earlier in the week. She recorded 12 total hits including two three hit games. Hoyle also had four RBI on the weekend with a batting average of .522, .615 in conference play.

Sophomore Jackson Price continues to shine as he set yet another top time in program history at the South Wesleyan GottaRun Invite on Saturday. Price, competing in the 200m dash, crossed the finish line in a time of 21.15 seconds which landed him in second place at the meet. Price's time of 21.15 seconds stands as the second fastest time in program history and the fourth fastest time in Division III this season according to TFRRS. Price also competed in the 400m dash where he clocked a time of 49.44 seconds, the 33rd best time in DIII this season, to finish just off the podium in fourth place at the meet.

Baseball and softball are both on the road this weekend taking on Brandeis and NYU respectively while track and field will travel to Cleveland, Tennessee to compete in the Lee Flames Invitational.
