Historic Weeks Lead to Four UAA Athlete of the Week Selections

Four Emory University student-athletes were recognized as University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon as announced by the conference office.

Sophomore Jack Halloran earned his first ever UAA weekly honor as he had a historic weekend in baseball's series sweep at Brandeis. Senior Annika Urban continued on her roll as she earned her 11th UAA Athlete of the Week honor of the calendar year and the 16th of her career after establishing the program record in the 1,500m run. Senior Aaron Mishoulam earned the third UAA weekly honor of his career for pitching in baseball while freshman Cindy Wang won her first ever UAA Athlete of the Week honor as a member of the women's golf team.

Halloran had a monster weekend during the Eagles' record-breaking sweep of the Judges. Halloran went 13-for-18 with 15 runs, five home runs, three doubles, 19 RBI and established four different program records. Halloran had three hits or more in three of the four wins, including a 5-for-5 game on Saturday where he launched three home runs, drove in nine and scored five runs, becoming just the second Eagle ever to hit three home runs in a single game.

Urban continued on her unstoppable run on Friday as she turned in a first place finish in the 1,500m run at the Lee Flames Invitational. Urban crossed the finish line in a time of 4:26.17 which stands as the fastest time in Division III this season according to TFRRS and is the fastest time in program history, her second outdoor record this season.

Mishoulam continued his dominant stretch as he earned the win in the series opener on Friday. Mishoulam won his sixth straight decision as he held the Judges to one run on six hits and one walk over six innings. He racked up 11 strikeouts, the most by an Emory pitcher this year, which represents a new career-high for the senior righthander. Furthermore, Mishoulam had his first-ever plate appearance in Saturday's record-setting doubleheader, collecting a RBI groundout for Emory's 30th run of the second game.

Wang was named to the Stith Invitational All-Tournament team after leading the No. 1 ranked Eagles to a tournament win. Wang shot 75 and 72 across her two rounds, finishing with a two-day total of 147 for second place in the individual standings.
