Men's Golf Cruises to Tournament Win at Home Invitational

The Emory University men's golf A team won their home Discover Dekalb Emory Invitational tournament beating out the next closest team by over 25 strokes. The 54-hole tournament was played at the 6,905-yard, par-72 Cherokee Run Golf Course in Conyers, GA.

The No. 2 ranked Eagles A team posted a three-round score of 863 (287-291-285) to outpace second place teams No. 16 Washington & Lee (305-293-290) and No. 4 Babson (291-289-308). The A team led the field in both birdies (55) and eagles (4) on the way to their second tournament win of the spring season. Emory's C team finished tied for fourth with a score of 898 (299-298-301) while the Emory B team posted a 902 (298-298-306) to finish in seventh place.

Junior Jackson Klutznick won his second ever tournament, as he won the Chick-fil-A Invitational in the fall, posting a three-round score of 208 (70-72-66). Klutznick's score of 208 is tied for the second best three round total in program history and his third round score of 66 is tied for the third best in program history. Senior Max Schwarz didn't finish far behind Klutznick, finishing in third place after carding a 214 (75-71-68) to earn a spot on the all-tournament team roster. Freshman Tony Li (70-76-76) and senior Davis Hingtgen (74-73-75) tied for a tenth place finish as each of them registered a 222 with Li leading the field in total pars (42).

Rounding out scoring for Emory was senior Logan Ryan who finished off the tournament with a 228 (73-75-80) score and tied for 24th. For the C team, freshman Nicholas Nautiyal led all players posting a 221 (71-72-78) to finish tied for eighth while for the B-team freshman Michael Burry was their leading scorer, finishing tied for tenth at 222 (67-75-80).

The Eagles will next take the greens next month at the NCAA DIII Championships in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL on May 10-13.
