Senior Austin Claunch played a key role in helping the Eagles to a pair of home UAA victories, averaging a team-high 16.0 points, 6.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds as Emory topped NYU and Brandeis.
Senior Austin Claunch turned in a pair of outstanding performances in helping the No. 5-ranked Emory men’s basketball team remain undefeated. In wins over Piedmont College and the University of Rochester, the 5-foot-9 Claunch averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 assists and 2.0 steals as the Eagles raised their overall record to 12-0.
Junior Michael Friedberg helped the No. 5-ranked Eagles to a pair of victories that saw the squad boost their record to 10-0. The 6-foot-6 Friedberg averaged a team-leading 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game as Emory defeated Rhodes College on Dec. 29 and Guilford on Dec. 31.
Senior Alex Gulotta helped the No. 9-ranked Eagles remain undefeated by registering a season-high 20 points in a 60-54 victory at Oglethorpe University in the squad’s lone action of the week.
Sophomore Jake Davis helped the No. 10-ranked Eagles remain undefeated with a pair of strong performances. Davis posted team highs in both points (22.5 ppg) and rebounds (8.5 rpg) as Emory came away with home wins over LaGrange and Covenant College, running the team’s record to 7-0.
Sophomore Jake Davis helped the No. 13-ranked Eagles to three wins that upped the team’s overall record to 5-0. The 6-foot-5 Davis averaged a team-highs in points (23.0 ppg), rebounds (7.0 rpg) and field goal percentage (.643), ending the week hitting 27-of-42 attempts from the floor.
