Junior Jake Davis helped the Emory men's basketball team to a
pair of wins at the Black Tie Classic in Brimingham, Alabama.
Davis averaged team-highs in both points (21.0 ppg) and
rebounds (7.5 rpg) in helping the Eagles to victories over
Huntingdon College and the University of the Ozarks. The
6-foot-5 Davis tied for game scoring honors with 21 points, sinking
nine-of-12 from the floor and three-of-four from the charity
stripe, in the team's season-opening 98-70 decision over
Huntingdon. The following day, he converted
eight-of-16 of his field goal tries, including three
three-point field goals, and grabbed eight rebounds in a 90-80
triumph over Ozarks. In the two games, he shot 60.7 percent
(17-of-28) from the floor.
