Senior (2021-22):

There were few players in all of DIII basketball that were more impactful and important to their team’s success as Schner was for the Eagles in the 2021-22 season… Etched himself into the history books as he will finish in the top ten in an incredibly large number of single season and individual game records and established himself as one of the top men’s basketball players to touch the floor at Emory as he finishes at the top of nearly every career record book as well… Was one of two players (Stuck) to play in and start in each of the Eagles 26 games… Scored 611 points over the course of the season which is the most points in a single season in program history breaking an eight year old record… Averaged 23.5 points per game his senior season which also stands as the best mark for a single season in program history… His 23.5 points per game moves his career scoring average to 17.6 points per contest which stands as the third best mark by an Eagle… Set UAA records for points scored (347) and field goals made (140)...Hitting 39.4% on three pointers during the 2021-22 season, Schner’s career average on three pointer’s moved to a blistering 43.3% which is the best mark in program history… After averaging 38.0 minutes per game this season, a program record, Schner sits at an average of 33.6 minutes per game for his career which is the top mark for any Eagle… On top of his scoring prowess, Schner was also ferocious on the glass finishing with the seventh best single season rebounding average (8.7 per game) and the eighth most total rebounds in a season (225)… Schner’s career average of 7.7 rebounds per match sits second on Emory’s all-time list… Not just a volume scorer, Schner’s field goal percentage of 51.4% on the season brought his career field goal percentage to 53.7% which is the fifth best in program history… A facilitator as well with 94 assists his senior season, Schner finished ninth in assists per game (3.0) for his career and eleventh in total assists (240)… Finished the season in the top five of 20 different statistical categories in the UAA… Also tallied 52 made free throws, 36 steals and nine blocks over the course of the 2021-22 season… Was one of five players named to the D3Hoops.com All-America First Team making him the first ever Emory men’s or women’s player to earn first team honors from D3Hoops.com… One of 11 finalists for the 2022 Jostens Trophy which is given out to the most outstanding Division III men’s basketball player each season… Was named one of 25 finalists for the Bevo Francis Award which is given to the player who has the finest overall season in Small College Basketball (NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA)… Was named to the NABC All-American Second Team and All-District First Team making him just the third player in program history to be named an All-American by the NABC… Tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team… Earned the UAA Player of the Year Honor after earning Co-Player of the Year honors in 2020 as well as a spot on the All-UAA First Team for the third consecutive year… One of five players to earn a spot on the D3Hoops.com All-Region Team… Named to the 2021-22 UAA Winter All-Academic Team… Scored 20 or more points in 19 games, including 30 or more in five games, and led the team in scoring in 23 of 26 contests… Also played in 40 minutes or more in 13 games which is the most in program history… In the final game of his Emory career in the NCAA Second Round against Wabash (Mar. 5) he became the second player in program history to record a triple double (30 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists) and his final three pointer of the game, that brought Emory within one point with 17 seconds left, gave him the single season scoring record for the Eagles… In the Eagles conference clinching game against Case Western Reserve (Feb. 18), Schner scored a career-high 39 points, tied for the second most in a game by an Eagle, on 16-for-27 shooting which is tied for the most made field goals in program history… In an overtime thriller against Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 20) Schner had a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds including the game winning pull up jumper with four seconds left to give the Eagles the one-point victory.

Topped the club with 37 steals and was fifth in the conference in steals average (1.4 spg) ... Team-high 37 minutes and produced 15 points on six-of-10 field goal shooting, including three-of-four from distance, in the NCAA Tournament second-round game vs. Pomona-Pitzer (Mar. 7) ... Three-pointer with 3:24 left in the game snapped a 64-64 deadlock and began an 8-0 Emory run in an eventual 78-74 triumph over Methodist (Mar. 6) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament ... Game-high 20 points saw him knock down a season-high tying four three pointers and he added a season-high tying four steals in an 80-76 triumph over Rochester (Feb. 29) that helped clinch a share of the UAA title ... Huge effort in a 98-86 win at Carnegie Mellon (Feb. 21), registering his sixth double-double of the year with a game-high 27 points along with a game-high tying 10 rebounds – ended the game seven-of-13 from the field and 13-of-13 from the foul line, with his makes at the charity stripe the high-water mark by an Emory player during the year ... Tied for team scoring lead with 16 points and grabbed a game-high 11 boards in 99-81 win over NYU (Feb.14) – scored five points during a decisive 12-5 Eagle spurt that pushed them to a 19-point cushion in the second half ...
