Men's Basketball Recognized For Academic Excellence By NABC

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced this week their recipients for the Academic Honors Court, which recognizes basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2021-22 year.

To be named a recipient to the Academic Honors Court, student-athletes must have an academic standing of a sophomore or higher and carry a Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year. The Eagles had five student-athletes recognized on this year Honors Court: Mason Johnson (Finance OAM), Matthew Schner (Business Administration), Max Fried (International Studies), Nick Stuck (Finance) and Shane McCravy (English).

Furthermore, the NABC also announced their ninth Annual Team Excellence Awards, created by the NABC Committee on Academics with the Eagles being tabbed as one of the team recipients. In order to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, a program must achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the previous academic year.

The Eagles are coming off another successful season in their return to action following the pandemic. The team posted another 20-win campaign, finishing 20-6 overall while capturing the team's third straight UAA conference crown and advancing to the Second Round of the NCAA tournament.
