Three members of the Emory University men's soccer team were honored on the All-University Athletic Association Team Monday morning as announced by the league office.

Senior Alejandro Gomez earned First Team recognition while classmate Cole Hendricks and freshman Josh Grand were tabbed to the Second Team. It is the third All-UAA selection for Gomez after earning Second Team honors as a freshman and was Honorable Mention in 2021. This marks the first career selections for both Hendricks and Grand.

Gomez continued to provide offensive sparks for the Eagles this season, finishing as the team leader in goals (6), assists (4) and points (16) and was tied for the team lead with 19 shots on goal. During UAA play, he recorded at least one point in three of the seven contests including goals against Brandeis and Rochester. The win over the Judges also represented a season-high for the senior midfielder, as he added a pair of assists for four points. Outside of conference play, Gomez notched four goals and one assist and was named to the Sonny Carter Invitational All-Tournament Team to start the year.

For Hendricks, he was the lynchpin on defense starting six of the seven UAA contests and aided the team in posting three shutouts on the year. He played over 65 minutes in nine games and would add goals against Washington & Lee and Carnegie Mellon. He was one of six Eagles to play in all 18 games and led the team with 17 starts.

Grand makes his first All-UAA team, following a strong rookie campaign where he finished tied for second on the team with nine points, registering four goals and one assist. He notched two goals in wins over Oglethorpe and Roanoke with his other two tallies coming against Birmingham-Southern and Hampden-Sydney. He ended his season on a solid note, picking up his first career assist on Gomez's game-tying goal in the closing minutes against Rochester in the season finale.

The Eagles concluded the 2022 season with a 5-8-5 overall record and finished sixth in the UAA standings.
