Aman Manji

Aman Manji

Senior Aman Manji came through with stellar performances in both singles and doubles action at the ITA South Region Championships.

Manji won all six of his singles matches en route to claiming the championship. On the final day of action, Manji, the No. 3 seed, defeated No. 2 seed Avery Schober of Sewanee, 6-0, 6-3, before topping sophomore teammate and No. 1 seed, Jonathan Jemison in the title showdown, 6-4, 6-3.  His performance enabled him to earn All-America honors for the 2016-17 campaign and advanced him to the ITA Oracle Cup, Oct. 13-16, in Surprise, Arizona.  In doubles, Manji and freshman Rex Serituk won their opening four matches in advancing to the semifinals.  In the semis, the duo lost to fellow Eagles David Omsky and Jemison, who would go onto win the crown.

Manji's effort in singles made him the fourth straight Emory player and 10th in the past 11 years to bring home the title.
