Men's Tennis Win Streak Snapped at Home to Georgia Gwinnett

The Emory University men's tennis team saw its six-match winning streak snapped Sunday evening, falling to local and NAIA foe Georgia Gwinnett College in Atlanta. The Eagles fall to 13-3 this spring following the defeat while the win puts the Grizzlies at 16-1.

For doubles, the Emory pairing of senior Andrew Esses and freshman John Lasanajak came through with the team's first point of the afternoon, posting an 8-4 result at the second position.

In singles, GGC had straight set wins at the top two positions coupled with two three set wins on courts four and five. The Eagles were led by graduate student Charlie James as his 7-5, 7-6 win at the third spot moves his spring record to 12-0 in singles and senior William Coupe's 7-5, 6-3 victory on court six.

Emory looks to round out the regular season next weekend, first taking on NAIA's Tennessee Wesleyan on the road Saturday afternoon before returning to the WoodPEC courts Sunday afternoon against SCAD Atlanta on senior day.
