Sophomore Ashley Powers hit .500 during the Emory softball team's three-game run at the NCAA D-III Championships.
Powers went 1-for-2 at the plate with a pair of RBIs and one run scored in a 3-2 win over St. Thomas. Powers socked a two-run homer in the top of the fourth against the Tommies that gave the Eagles their final runs of the game and which proved to be the game-winning RBI. In what proved to be the squad's final contest of the year, Powers went 3-for-4 against Rowan University, her 16th multi-hit outing the year. Her performance enabled her to earn a berth on the NCAA Championships All-Tournament Team.
Powers ended the year hitting a team-high .412 (63 of 157).
