The Emory University softball team took their second loss against the Maryville College Scots at Cooper Field on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles fall to 9-6 on the season and 8-6 at home. The Scots improve to 8-7 this season after sweeping three games against Rhodes College and Emory this week.

The Eagles jumped to an early lead in the bottom of the second inning, but the Scots answered back in the top of the third with three runs.

Freshman Ella Hoyle tied the game in the bottom of the third inning with a single to score two runs.

The Scots scored a run in both the fifth and sixth inning to take the 5-3 win over Emory.

The Eagles travel to Piedmont on Saturday, March 18 at 4 pm before heading back to Cooper Field for a midweek game against Berry on Wednesday, March 22 at 3 pm.
