The Emory University softball team defeated the Brandeis Judges 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, Georgia in the final game of the series.

The Eagles improve to 14-12 on the season and take a 4-3 record in the UAA while the Judges drop to 11-3, 6-2 in UAA action.

Emory started off strong in the bottom of the second with a double to right field from junior Page Nellis. Junior Abby Sekoff followed with a huge double through the right side to plate Miller and take a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, freshman Ashley Chu started the inning with a leadoff single to left field. Junior Natalie Swift followed with a double to left field to score Chu. Freshman Ella Hoyle continued her hot streak with a single up the middle to plate Swift and give Emory a 4-0 lead heading into the fourth inning.

The Eagles were able to capitalize on an error from Brandeis in the bottom of the fourth to score Emory's fifth run of the day and carry a 5-0 lead into the fifth inning. The rest of the game was held scoreless and the Eagles picked up their 14th win of the season.

Freshman Mackenzie Duford pitched one of her most impressive outings this season throwing a complete game. She struck out three and walked just two in her seven innings of work.
