Claire Brock Named to CSC Academic All-America First Team

Emory University women's basketball's Claire Brock was honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization Tuesday afternoon by being tabbed as a member of the Academic All-America First Team.

Brock is the only women's basketball player to earn a spot on the CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America team and becomes just the seventh Eagle in Emory history to be selected three times, the first since 2016. Brock was previously selected to the Second Team in 2022 and First Team in 2023.

Along with the selection, Brock has earned All-Region honors (D3hoops.com) and All-America status (WBCA) while also being named a finalist for the 2024 Jostens Trophy.

Brock easily became the biggest scorer for the Emory squad while averaging 17.1 points per game good for first in the conference and finished top 10 in the conference in field goal percentage (47.3, 7th) and three pointers per game (2.4, 1st).

In just the first few games of the season, Brock posted a career-high 39 points against then ranked No. 23 Washington and Lee which ranks her second on the all-time program list in most points in a single game. Alongside her scoring, she also shows her talent on the other side of the game posting two double-doubles this season against Chicago, scoring 17 points with a career-high 16 rebounds, and against Rochester where she notched 22 points and 10 rebounds.

In addition to Brock, teammate Daniella Aronsky was also named to the CSC Academic All-District Team earlier this month and proceeded to be placed on the All-America ballot for voting. CSC Academic All-America Teams are nominated and voted on by College Sports Communicators and Sports Information Directors across all Division III institutions.

The CSC Academic All-America team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must possess a 3.50 or higher grade-point average and have competed in 90 percent of their institution's games/contests in the year that they were nominated.
