Paris Wagner, Rebekah Bondi Reach Podium on Day One of UAA Indoor Championships

The Emory University Women's Track & Field team recorded a pair of All-Association performances on Saturday as the Eagles began competition at the UAA Indoor Championships inside the Veale Athletic Center on the campus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Junior Paris Wagner and freshman Rebekah Bondi claimed the first All-UAA finishes for Emory at the meet, taking third in their respective events. Wagner registered a distance of 14.87m in the weight throw whereas Bondi posted a personal-best mark in the long jump at 5.35m. Bondi also competed in the 60m Dash, advancing to the finals with a PR of 7.88.

Bondi was one of seven Eagles to advance to the finals on the afternoon as Emory got off to a strong start in the track events, totaling four of the five top times in preliminaries. Junior Dani Bland led all performers in both the 60m and 200m Dashes, tying a personal-best in the 60m at 7.74 and setting a new season-best in the 200m at 25.60. In the 60m Hurdles, junior Dilys Osei registered a new PR in the event, finishing at 9.05. And in the 800m Run, senior Gabrielle Stravach clocked the sixth fastest time in school history, setting a new personal-best with a time of 2:14.70.

Also reaching the finals in track events for the Eagles were: Osei in both the 200m (3rd, 25.84) and 60m Dash (5th, 8.00), senior Erica Goldman (4th, 58.91) and sophomore Kaitlyn Leonard (6th, 1:00.01) in the 400m Dash and sophomore Gabrielle Davis in the 60m Hurdles (6th, 9.47).

Freshman Andi Breitowich finished just outside the scoring positions in the pole vault with a career-best height of 3.37m and freshman Carrie McIntyre placed ninth in the 5000m Run with a time of 18:24.55.

The UAA Indoor Championships continues on Sunday morning, beginning with the men's triple jump at 9:00 AM and concludes with the men's and women's 4x400m Relay at 2:05pm.
