The Emory University Athletics department held its annual TAKEOFF event Tuesday night inside the Woodruff PE Center with Olympic Gold Medalist Michele Smith highlighting the evening with a guest speaking appearance. The TAKEOFF is yearly event that celebrates the beginning of the athletic year.

Smith, a two-time gold medalist for the United States Softball team, spoke to all Emory student-athletes about integrity and perseverance. All students also signed a banner committing to acting with integrity throughout the upcoming athletic seasons.
