A total of four members from the Emory University cross country and track & field programs were named to the Academic All-District Teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon.

Senior Hannah Lansberry and junior Annika Urban represent the Eagles on the women's team with graduate student Liam Fost and senior Spencer Moore being chosen as men's honorees.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Fost makes his second appearance on the Academic All-District team and first since 2020 after he excelled during the outdoor season after being an NCAA qualifier in the indoor 400m dash. He captured UAA outdoor titles in the 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m to lead the Eagles to a third place finish at the conference meet this past April. This weekend he will be competing at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for a second time after qualifying as a member of the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, helping both relays establish new school records this season. In his career, Fost is a four-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree, the 2019 USTFCCCA South/Southeast Outdoor Regional Athlete of the Year, six-time combined UAA champion and will have competed in four NCAA Championships meets (two indoor, two outdoor).

Moore makes his first career Academic All-District Team after an outstanding senior campaign in both cross country and on the track. In the fall, Moore earned his second career All-Region honor as he helped the Eagles to the cross country regional crown and was ninth at the UAA Championships to earn All-UAA Second Team honors for the first time. Moore also made his first appearance at the NCAA Championships, placing 154th out of 289 runners. This spring, Moore has become one of the top steeplechase performers in team history, posting the second fastest time in program history to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and won the event at the UAA Outdoor Championships. In addition, he is a six-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection in track and has made three UAA All-Academic teams.

Urban has proven herself to be one of top distance runners in the nation during her junior campaign as she garners her first-ever spot on the Academic All-District Team. Urban had a dominating cross country season as she was named the South/Southeast Regional Athlete of the Year after finishing as the runner-up at the UAA Championships, first at the NCAA regionals and recorded the second-best finish in team history at the NCAA Cross Country Championships with her 12th-place effort to capture All-America honors. She continued her success during the outdoor track season, turning in two All-UAA finishes while smashing her previous school record in 5000m Run and ranks second all-time in the 1500m Run as she qualified for both events at this year's NCAA Championships.

Lansberry rounds out the All-District selections as she earns her first Academic All-District distinction following a strong career on the track. Previously a two-time outdoor All-American in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays in 2019, she has racked up nine USTFCCCA All-Region honors, helped Emory to the outdoor 4x400m UAA title in 2019, collected four All-UAA finishes with her most recent one coming in 2022 as part of the 4x400m relay and was an outdoor qualifier for the 2021 NCAA Championships in the 4x100m relay.

By virtue of being chosen of being named to the All-District Teams, all four Eagles will now be placed on the national ballot for a chance to be named Academic All-Americans. The CoSIDA Academic All-America Cross Country/Track & Field teams for Division III will be announced on Wednesday, June 22nd.
